The Palm Beach MPO primarily publishes planning reports, technical documents, meeting materials, maps, and public involvement resources in PDF format to prevent alterations by other parties. These published materials can be viewed and printed using Adobe Acrobat Reader version 4.0 or higher.

For users intending to use screen-reading devices to review PDFs, they must download an accessibility plug-in installed on their system. For users with Adobe Acrobat Reader, the plug-in is accessible at no cost from Adobe. Users may also use Adobe online tools to convert PDF files to HTML. For plug-ins and Adobe’s accessibility tools and services, visit the Adobe Downloads site.

Users also have the ability to view the MPO’s online materials that are in PPT format, provided they have PowerPoint, Google Slides, or other software that imports or exports files in PPTX. installed on their device.

Alternate formats may include:

• Large print
• Other communication supports as appropriate

Due to the volume of legacy and archived documents, some older files may not yet be fully accessible.

The MPO is taking a phased approach to:

• Prioritize high‑impact and legally required documents (e.g., LRTP, TIP, Title VI materials, meeting agendas and minutes)
• Ensure newly posted documents are created in accessible formats
• Improve document workflows to support long‑term accessibility

If you experience difficulty accessing any website content, including PDF documents, or if you require information in an alternate format, the MPO will provide reasonable accommodations and effective communication upon request.

Some of the MPO’s webpages use Cascading Style Sheets (CSS) for page layout and text formatting. By using relative and adjustable font sizes, users have the ability to adjust the text size. This feature is not currently available, but the agency is working to update existing pages.

The Palm Beach MPO remains responsible for ensuring digital accessibility and continues to review and improve underlying website content and structure. As such, this website utilizes accessibility enhancement technology intended to improve usability for individuals with disabilities. Web pages are tested for compliance with accessibility standards and to identify possible barriers to accessibility in web pages. Website features may include tools designed to supplement, not replace, accessible design and development practices.

These tools and features include the following:

• Website Images with “alt tags” or “alt text,” which aid users with visual impairments who listen to the content of the site.
• High contrast text and background colors
• Text scripts or closed captioning to accompany audio and video clips
• Mouse-only navigation (for users who cannot navigate a website using a keyboard)
• Labels that screen readers can convey to the user (e.g., text that reads “insert email” where their email should be entered)
• Error indicators (alerts telling the user a form field is missing or incorrect)
• No use of color cues to convey information
• The provision of access Keys for the website:

The MPO is dedicated to maintaining its website as technologically accessible and consistent with the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.0 as much as possible. The MPO welcomes comments on how to improve this website’s accessibility to all visitors. We have conducted and continue to conduct ongoing accessibility reviews of our website and remediation of any functionality issues.
